COP17 will mark the collective progress toward implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The framework includes key goals for accelerating private finance that contributes to slowing nature and biodiversity loss and reducing material financial risks – including mobilizing $200 billion per year for biodiversity from a multitude of sources. Ceres experts will highlight the steps investors, companies, and policymakers can take to scale investment and help protect and restore nature and ecosystems. In a new brief (published on October 15), Ceres—and other investor-facing organizations—lay out how more than 800 global institutional investors are acting on nature and biodiversity loss and where policy can unlock more action.
Building on Ceres' investor-led work on nature, water, and deforestation, experts will explore more pathways to advance private sector action in tandem with government action to achieve global biodiversity goals.
