Biodiversity COP17, which runs from October 19 to 30 and taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, will mark the first global review of collective progress towards the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (also known as The Biodiversity Plan). The Biodiversity Plan, adopted at COP15 in December 2022, includes 23 action targets for 2030 towards four long-term goals for 2050 to halt and reverse nature and biodiversity loss. One necessary action is to mobilize investments to close the annual biodiversity finance gap of $700 billion.
Ceres experts and partners will highlight the steps investors and companies are taking to help protect and restore nature and ecosystems. Building on Ceres' investor-led work on nature, water, and deforestation, they will explore pathways to accelerate private sector ambition and action in achieving global biodiversity goals.
