NEW YORK CITY: Ceres, a leading sustainability nonprofit, will host a major mainstage event at Climate Week NYC 2026, focused on the opportunities shaping the next phase of the transition to a cleaner, more resilient, and affordable economy.
Ceres Mainstage starts at 9:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 75 Convene Rockefeller Plaza. Speakers, including ALTERRA CEO H.E. Majid Al Suwaidi, New York City Comptroller Mark Levine and senior representatives from CalPERS, JPMorgan Chase, Nucor, PG&E, Amazon, and Siemens, will explore relevant business sustainability topics. From overcoming hurdles in scaling climate finance to building sustainable data centers that protect grids, water resources, and communities, the conversations will highlight practical solutions. The mainstage program is open to the media.
Climate Week NYC 2026 comes after a summer of extreme weather, battered by deadly and costly heatwaves, droughts, and tornadoes. July and August were the hottest month on record in U.S. history, and 2026 is on track to be one of the warmest on record due to our changing climate and El Niño. At the same time, the U.S. government rolled back more environmental policies, making it harder to combat these challenges.
Despite this, investors and companies haven’t slowed down. They continue prioritizing responsible investment and business practices by managing growing climate-related financial risks and investing in solutions that advance the clean energy transition. Wind and solar are now the largest, cheapest sources of new electricity generation, surpassing fossil fuels for the first time. And states are advancing policy solutions that modernize energy infrastructure and make electricity more affordable.
At Ceres at Climate Week NYC, we will call for action to drive business innovation and growth, increase climate investment, and secure policies to keep America’s economy competitive.

The rapid growth of data centers is driving energy demand and water use in already stressed regions. If built responsibly, data centers can advance clean energy and innovative water solutions, ensuring sustainable operations and community benefits. States also play an important role in balancing economic development, affordability, community resilience, and investment priorities. This session will explore practical approaches for businesses and policymakers to leverage state-level innovation and scale digital infrastructure responsibly and efficiently.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, Ceres will also convene its first Nature Hive to advance important conversations on critical business and community issues stemming from nature and biodiversity loss. The event will be held at Penthouse 45 and feature sessions hosted by partner organizations exploring sustainable food production, forest conservation efforts, and nature solutions investing.
