Sonja Page Sobecki combines operational expertise, strategic insight, and philanthropic engagement in her work on climate and sustainability. She serves on the board of the Sobecki Family Foundation, where since 2019 she has played an active role in identifying opportunities where philanthropic support can unlock scalable impact. The Foundation has been a long-time supporter of Ceres, including contributions to initiatives such as the Corporate Electric Vehicle Alliance and Valuing Water.
Professionally, Sonja began her career as a field engineer in the oil & gas industry, gaining hands-on experience managing risk and leading teams in high-stakes environments—an experience that sharpened her operational acumen and deepened her commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. She has since held leadership roles at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and operations, including at Via Separations, where she led the delivery of a first-of-a-kind membrane separations system for more energy efficient manufacturing in the pulp and paper industry. Today, she is Senior Director of Operations Excellence at Suffolk Construction, driving strategy to improve efficiency, strengthen financial management, and embrace data-driven and sustainable practices.
Sonja holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester and an MBA from Harvard Business School. An avid outdoorswoman, she finds inspiration in nature, from summiting Denali to her favorite local peak, Mount Monadnock.
