Gail Greenwald has been an early-stage investor and a nonprofit leader with a focus on climate change and environmental stewardship for over 15 years.
As an angel investor, Gail has invested in about 20 early-stage companies, mostly focused on climate and cleantech, and has served on the boards of several of them. She is a member and former director of the Launchpad Venture Group and an emeritus member of the Clean Energy Venture Group, two prominent Boston-area angel investment groups.
In the nonprofit arena, Gail served on the board of the Sierra Club Foundation for seven years, including three years as board chair and three years as investment committee chair. For the Woodwell Climate Research Center, she served as board chair for three years and is continuing to serve a nine-year term. She looks forward to opportunities to engage and contribute with Ceres.
Earlier, Gail held leadership positions in technology-focused companies. She was a vice president and senior managing director of the technology and product development business at Arthur D. Little (an international consultancy), chief operating officer at Caveo Technology (a computer security startup), and executive vice president at Foliage (a software and product development company).
Gail holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
