Dan Firger is the Founder and Managing Partner of Great Circle Capital Advisors, which works with a wide range of investors, financial institutions, family offices and philanthropies on projects and transactions related to climate finance and energy transition.
Dan has a 25-year track record as an advisor, strategist, investor, lawyer and policy expert focused on climate finance matters. Earlier in his career, he was an attorney at an international law firm supporting clients with complex climate and renewable energy investments and projects in emerging markets, as well as transactions in both the voluntary and compliance carbon markets. For over half a decade, Dan managed climate and sustainable finance programs at Bloomberg Philanthropies, where he managed a $100M+ global portfolio of grants, spanning dozens of partners and a variety of organization types. He also supported Mike Bloomberg in his roles as UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Co-Chair of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and in relation to other special projects and partnerships.
In addition to his role at Great Circle, Dan serves on the advisory boards of Spring Lane Capital, an investment firm, and Unwritten.co, an AI startup focused on transition risk analytics in private markets. In 2023, Dan co-founded the Venture Climate Alliance, a group of more than 70 leading venture firms committed to climate leadership. More recently, he co-founded Tertiary Impact Capital, a loan guarantee platform for sustainable infrastructure finance. He holds a JD from NYU and a MPA from Princeton. He lives in New York with his family.
