Chris has more than three decades of experience with nonprofit organizational, program, and resource development. In a newly established role, he leads Ceres' partnership and business development strategies, having previously overseen the Individual Giving, Corporate Giving, and Events teams. Chris joined Ceres in 2018 as the Development Director for the California office.
Prior to Ceres, Chris served as Director of Development and External Relations at the Center for Ecoliteracy, a Berkeley-based nonprofit that advances ecological education. Previously, he was a strategic planning, program development, and fundraising consultant for Bay Area nonprofits and a founding member of the Marin School of Environmental Leadership. Before his work in sustainability, Chris led performing arts organizations, including Magic Theater in San Francisco and the Obie Award-winning Youngblood in New York City, which he co-founded. Chris is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University. He lives in New York’s Catskill Mountains with his partner, Sheri Matteo.
