Peter Cashion

Peter Cashion was named Managing Investment Director for Sustainable Investments in March 2023. In his role, Peter sets the vision, strategy, and governance for CalPERS’ sustainability work and is responsible for leading all aspects of the fund’s efforts to develop and implement a financially driven sustainability-based research and data framework to support integration throughout the investment decision-making process. Prior to CalPERS, Peter worked at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) spanning back to 1995. Peter graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in administrative and commercial studies from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Queen’s University in Canada. He's also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
