Allan leads investor engagement efforts at the nexus of climate change, deforestation, biodiversity loss, and human rights. With over a decade of experience in sustainability and shareholder advocacy, he supports institutional investors in developing and executing corporate engagement strategies that address systemic environmental and social risks.
Allan directs Ceres’ Food and Nature Working Group - a forum for investors focused on the challenges and opportunities in building a more resilient food sector and nature-positive economy - and oversees the Food Emissions 50 initiative, which engages food companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and capitalize on opportunities in the transition to a more resilient food system. He also leads investor-facing work for Nature Action 100, a global investor engagement initiative focused on supporting greater corporate ambition and action to reverse nature and biodiversity loss.
Prior to joining Ceres, Allan was Director of Shareholder Advocacy at Trillium Asset Management where he engaged companies on risks related to climate change, plastic packaging pollution, food waste, and human rights. Allan is a recognized thought leader in sustainable finance, regularly contributing to discussions on integrating environmental and social considerations into investment decisions.
