Following the devastating fires in the Amazon, Australia and Southeast Asia, companies face increasing pressure from investors to tackle deforestation in their direct operations and beyond. In response, companies are examining their supply chains and suspending partnerships with commodity traders who cannot ensure their products are produced without deforestation.
As highlighted by Ceres’ Out on a Limb report and our benchmark of commodity traders, many companies have not effectively disclosed their quantitative progress towards eliminating deforestation, leaving investors in the dark on this material risk.
