Ceres will convene business leaders, academic experts, and government officials on Beacon Hill to spotlight how a state climate bank could help address Massachusetts’ affordability challenges by unlocking financial innovation, accelerating investment in climate mitigation and resilience projects, and expanding access to clean energy.Â
The legislative invite-only briefing is being held as Ceres experts and members meet with policymakers on Beacon Hill to urge the legislature to pass legislation to establish a Massachusetts Climate Bank as part of a broader energy affordability package. During the meetings and June 11 legislative briefing, participants will discuss how a climate bill will drive long-term impacts by channeling low-cost capital to businesses and households—empowering them to take dependable action and helping them to manage energy bills over time.Â
