Ceres Responsible Supplier Program

The Ceres Responsible Supplier Training is designed to help companies engage with their supply chain partners to improve short-term performance, while creating long-term value by integrating responsible and sustainable business practices. The training uses Ceres experts and the Ceres Roadmap 360º to guide participants through key concepts, resources, and guidance on how to take action.  

Training Details 

This hands-on training helps suppliers earlier in their sustainability journey as they work towards integrating responsible business practices into their organizations. The training also uses the Ceres Roadmap 360º, a free online tool designed to help companies in the early stages of developing responsible business practices identify the business value in managing climate, water, nature, and social impacts.  

Training topics may include the following–but can also be customized to address specific industry trends and key challenges:  

• Overview of the responsible business landscape

• Making the business case

• Identifying priorities, risks, and opportunities

• Gaining buy-in and the role of effective governance

• Generating internal cross functional support

• Strategies and steps for addressing climate, nature and social impacts

• Engaging external stakeholders

• Recognizing the value of disclosure

The Ceres Responsible Supplier Training can be structured in multiple ways, with the standard format comprising of 2-4 virtual sessions scheduled roughly one month apart. These sessions allow for 10-15 suppliers with up to 2 participants from each supplier. Each session is comprised of a Ceres-led and content driven portion, as well as a Ceres-facilitated portion which allows participants to interact and learn from each other. Between sessions, there will be short assignments to apply key learnings and opportunities for participants to ask Ceres experts questions and attend office hour sessions to converse in real time.
