The mainstreaming of sustainability into corporations is inspiring Chief Financial Officers to proactively integrate it into all aspects of the finance, reporting, planning and risk management functions that they oversee. This means that all senior financial professionals need to be aware of how sustainability issues intersect with their responsibilities and the key impact sustainability has on the financial performance of their companies. One example of this integration is seen in corporate responses to the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). The TCFD outlines recommended disclosures for corporations on climate-related issues. This session will introduce the recommendations and highlight approaches being taken by corporations to respond.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn about the eleven TCFD recommend disclosures and the role of the finance function in implementing them within companies;
  • Discuss how ESG investing is evolving and the role of TCFD in improving ESG investment analysis; and
  • Discover sustainability best practices used by leading companies and how they will continue to evolve going forward.
