Joel Carlton-Gysan joined Ceres in May 2013 as the senior development manager. He is eager to engage individuals to further Ceres’ mission of building a sustainable global economy.
Joel began his professional career in the environmental advocacy field as a fundraiser for the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, an organization that provides organizing and technical assistance to grassroots community groups. He has continued to work in non-profit development and marketing for more than 16 years with advocacy, arts and education organizations in Washington, DC, Seattle and Boston as well as programs in Europe. These include senior positions at the International Campaign for Tibet, Seattle's Intiman Theatre, and Boston University.
Joel holds a MBA from Boston University and a BA in Public Relations from Capital University. Outside of the office, he enjoys walks with his wife and dog, running, listening to live music, playing guitar and banjo, cooking, and traveling.
