Multi-State Initiatives Director, Office of the Oregon Governor
Dan Carol is the Director of Multi-State Initiatives for the Oregon Governor’s Office. This role was created to advance regional initiatives on the west coast and nationally, working with other states’ Governors and partners to accelerate job creation and a clean economy through innovative partnerships and policies. Prior to joining the Governor’s office, Mr. Carol was Senior Fellow for Innovation and Clean Economy at the New Policy Institute in Washington, D.C., where he focused on new strategies to accelerate community-based job creation and authored The Acceleration Agenda (2010).
Before that, Carol served as a co-founder of the Clean Economy Network and The Apollo Alliance, Content & Issues Director for the Obama for President campaign, an environmental and energy budget analyst at the Congressional Budget Office, a Presidential Management Fellow, and Staff Director for the 1992 Democratic platform for Bill Clinton. He has also served as adjunct faculty of the University of Oregon's School of Planning, Public Policy, and Management.
Mr. Carol also sits on the West Coast Infrastructure Exchange on the Operations & Partnerships Committee as a Jurisdictional Chair.
