Igniting Innovation. Scaling Sustainability.

In May 2011 more than 500 business leaders, investors, environmentalists and policy-makers gathered at Ceres' annual conference in Oakland, CA to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy.

Conference Highlights

A group of globally prominent investors, Fortune 500 companies and organized labor, including Levi Strauss & Co., SAP, CalPERS, CalSTRS and AFL-CIO, opening the conference by announcing a series of coordinated commitments to combat climate change and other societal challenges while building a safer, more sustainable global economy.  View the group statement and individual commitments.

Jim Woolsey’s thought-provoking, imagined dialogue between John Muir, General George Patton and Mahatma Gandhi on the environmental, security and social motivations for America to break its oil habit and move to a more secure, clean energy future.

Hannah Jones, while accepting Nike's Ceres-ACCA North American Sustainability Reporting Award, challenging conference participants to be bold in innovating for a sustainable future. Read excerpts from her speech.

Tom Steyer's fascinating take on the the current state of affairs on clean energy and climate policy and the need for companies and investors to be a forceful positive voice-shared at a special breakfast session hosted by BICEP.

Dozens of 3BL Media videos capturing conference speakers and attendees on film talking about how they are integrating sustainability into their business models, investments strategies, advocacy work and more. Watch the interviews below.
