Treasurer, The Sierra Club

Loren Blackford is helping promote a clean-energy economy through philanthropy, investments and political giving, and advocacy. She currently serves as treasurer for the national Sierra Club board and chairs their finance and investment committees. She is also a former director and board chair of the Sierra Club Foundation where she helped them transition to a mission-aligned investing strategy and continues to work closely with their investment committee.

Catherine is the Chair of Community Board 1, one of New York City's 59 community boards, covering most of the southernmost part of lower Manhattan below Canal Street. Through her involvement in CB 1 she has been an invaluable leader in the rebuilding of lower Manhattan after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and more recently, the destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy in October 2012.
