Foundations Manager

Karen Patterson Greene joined Ceres in February 2013 as Foundation Manager with the Development Team. She writes foundation reports and proposals, cultivates foundation relationships, and manages a portfolio of foundation grants. She works closely with program staff to identify funding needs, articulate success stories and develop compelling cases for funder support.

Karen has extensive project management experience working with non-profit organizations, government agencies and the private sector to implement initiatives that further environmental protection efforts. Prior to joining Ceres, she served as Project Director for the Charles River Conservancy, where she coordinated the work of the Charles River Water Quality Commission to study the feasibility of returning public swimming to the Charles River in Boston.

Karen holds an MS in Geography from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Public Policy from Tufts University. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two sons, and their yellow Lab Jersey.
