Susan Sayers joined Ceres in August 2012 as the organization’s first Chief Development Officer. In this capacity, she oversees resource development activities at Ceres, including individual giving, grants from foundations and corporations, and government funding
Prior to joining Ceres, Susan served as Chief Development Officer at Partners In Health, an international nonprofit organization that provides health care and poverty alleviation services in 12 countries around the world. Through various positions within PIH during her eight-year tenure, Susan helped the organization grow from $14 million to nearly $100 million in annual revenue. Before PIH, Susan worked at Pathfinder International in foundation relations and was also a lecturer in the History Department at Harvard University, teaching courses on early U.S. History and the American South.
Susan holds a BA in History and Psychology from Vanderbilt University and a PhD in American History from Harvard. In her free time, beyond spending time with her husband and three young children, Susan is an avid tennis player.
