Andy executes Ceres’ strategy for California state policy work by mobilizing California businesses in support of public policies that drive greenhouse gas emissions reductions and sustainable water management. By providing analysis of relevant policy opportunities and developing relationships with key policymakers and companies through direct advocacy engagement and other educational opportunities, Andy leverages the business voice in Sacramento.
Prior to Ceres, Andy engaged in California climate policy at the Natural Resources Defense Council and Environmental Defense Fund; his policy analysis and advocacy work has focused on a number of policy fronts including California’s Renewables Portfolio Standard, electric vehicle grid integration, and methane mitigation. While at EDF, Andy worked with Walmart on multiple corporate sustainability fronts including his role managing EDF’s engagement on Walmart’s Supply Chain Carbon Reduction Program. He also worked as Business Development Manager for a carbon financed clean cookstove start-up in Uganda.
Andy has a master’s degree in public policy and a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, both from U.C. Berkeley.
