Recognition and Awards

Over the years, Ceres has been recognized and awarded for its accomplishments. Most recently, Ceres and President Mindy S. Lubber was named by the United Nations and the Foundation for Social Change as one of the World's Top Leaders of Change, in recognition of Ceres' work in mobilizing leading companies to integrate environmental challenges into their core business strategies.

Over the years, Ceres has been recognized and awarded for our accomplishments impact and leadership building a sustainable global economy.

Global Journal Top NGOs 2013Ceres Ranks #6 on The Global Journal's Top 100 NGOs

The Global Journal named Ceres one of the Top 100 NGOs in the world in 2013. Not only did Ceres make the list for the second year in a row, but we ranked #6, moving up 20 slots over last year. We were selected from 450 NGOs headquartered in 27 different countries. The Global Journal considered a pool of approximately 450 NGOs based on three key criteria: impact, innovation and sustainability.

Zayed Future Energy Prize2013 Zayed Future Energy Prize Winner

In January 2013, Ceres received the top NGO award for the Zayed Future Energy Prize – one of the world’s most prestigious awards recognizing and rewarding innovation, impact, leadership, and long-term vision in renewable energy and sustainability.This year’s awards attracted 579 submissions from participants in 88 countries.

Philanthropedia Top Non-ProfitTop NGO Working on Climate Change

In 2012 Ceres was named by Philanthropedia, a project of the charity watchdog group Guidestar, as one of the top 10 nonprofits in the U.S. working to combat climate change. 121 National Climate Change experts recommended 18 outstanding nonprofits in this area, and Ceres ranked #6.

2012 ABA Award2012 American Bar Association Award

Ceres president Mindy S. Lubber was awarded the 2012 American Bar Association Award for Excellence in Environmental, Energy, and Resources Stewardship. This award recognizes achievement or leadership in areas of sustainable development or environmental, energy, or resources stewardship.

Global Green USAGlobal Green USA's Organizational Design Award

In 2009, Ceres received the Global Green USA Organizational Design Award, in recognition of Ceres's design of Business for Innovative Climate & Energy Policy (BICEP) and the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), describing them as "two groundbreaking efforts that have done a great deal to advance efforts to address global climate change and build sustainability into the fabric of the capital markets."
