Ceres directs the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), a network of over 100 institutional investors with collective assets totaling more than $12 trillion. Ceres also directs Business for Innovative Climate & Energy Policy (BICEP), an advocacy coalition of nearly 30 businesses committed to working with policy makers to pass meaningful energy and climate legislation. The Ceres Company Network includes over 60 corporations working to improve their performance and governance for sustainability.

The Senior Manager, Sustainable Agriculture is a full-time position, reporting to the Director, Food & Capital Markets. The Food and Capital Markets Initiative is a new multi-organization collaboration working to enhance the sustainability of key food supply chains. Ceres responsibilities as part of this program involve working with Ceres’ Investor, Corporate, NGO, and Policy partners. This role will be based in Boston, MA.
Senior Manager, Investor Engagement (new position)

The Senior Manager, Investor Engagement, plays a key role in Ceres’s work with institutional investors. This position, in partnership with the Director, focuses on building and managing the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), coordinated by Ceres, which is a network of more than 110 institutional investors with $13.5 trillion in assets under management. The work with investors is supporting the Food and Capital Markets Initiative, a new multi-organization collaboration working to enhance the sustainability of key food supply chains. Ceres responsibilities as part of this program involve working with Ceres’ Investor, Corporate, NGO, and Policy partners. This is a full-time staff position, based in Boston, MA, that will report to the Director of Investor Engagement.
Senior Manager, Investor Initiative for Sustainable Exchanges (IISE), Investor Program (new position)

The Senior Manager, Investor Initiative for Sustainable Exchanges (ISSE) position is a full-time role, reporting to the Director of the Investor Initiative on Sustainable Exchanges Project. This role will support the Food and Capital Markets Initiative, a new multi-organization collaboration working to enhance the sustainability of key food supply chains. This position will focus on global stock exchanges adopting listing requirements and mandatory sustainability reporting as a lever to drive sustainability of key food supply chains. Ceres responsibilities as part of this program involve working with Ceres’ Investor, Corporate, NGO, and Policy partners. Candidates should have specific expertise in sustainability disclosure standards and investor engagement to help lead our work with stock exchanges. This role will be based in Boston, MA.
Senior Manager, Corporate Governance (new position)

The Senior Manager, Corporate Governance position is a full-time role, reporting to the Senior Director of the Corporate Program. The Senior Manager will support Ceres’ project on corporate governance which encourages companies and investors to put in place strong systems to assess, manage, and make informed decisions on sustainability issues. The project engages corporate directors, executives, and investors around the role of board directors on sustainability performance and oversight. This role will be based in Boston, MA.

Senior Manager, Water Infrastructure (new position)

The Senior Manager, Water Infrastructure position is a full-time role, reporting to the Director of the Water Infrastructure Project. The Ceres Water Program works with our investor and environmental advocacy partners to accelerate the development of sustainable water systems in the United States. This position will play a pivotal role in Ceres’ efforts to advance sustainable water stewardship by water service providers responsible for delivering 80% of water used by homes and businesses in the Western United States. Primary areas of focus will include improving the transparency of the water sector through development of improved disclosure and credit risk analysis; decoupling of water system revenues from volumetric water sales to enable utilities to pursue water conservation as part of their primary business model; driving more efficient integration of water risk data by investors; and collaboratively developing intellectual capital on investment vehicles capable of directing institutional dollars toward sustainable water systems including energy efficient treatment systems and distributed infrastructure. This role may be based in San Francisco, CA or Boston, MA.
Assistant, Finance (new position)

The Assistant is a key member of the Finance team in its efforts to support the organization’s program activities. This position offers an opportunity for a trustworthy and energetic individual eager to be in the middle of the financial workings of Ceres and grow professionally. While the day-to-day work includes a significant amount of information gathering and data entry, there will be ample opportunity to help shape and implement financial policies and procedures, including those pertaining to contracting and sub granting. The Assistant will report to the Finance Manager. This position is full-time and based in our Boston, MA office.
Director, Corporate Program (new position)

We are seeking a Director for the Corporate Program to be a strategic advisor for Ceres member companies in the financial services sector. The Director will drive forward Ceres’ strategy for accelerating sustainability leadership in this key sector, working in concert with the financial services relationship manager, by helping member companies realize the competitive advantage of integrating ESG issues into core business and investment strategies. The Director will also be a key contributor to the team’s business strategy, management, and performance achievement.

Development Associate, California (new position)

The Associate will be a member of Ceres’ growing California office and will play an important role in expanding Ceres’ visibility and funding in California. The Associate will support the deployment of the California Office Director and other key California and Boston-based staff in development efforts. Senior Manager, Energy Efficiency

Ceres is looking to hire a full-time Senior Manager, Energy Efficiency who will report to the Director, Electric Power Program and play a key role in our work with investors and companies to materially ramp up energy efficiency investment. This position will focus on encouraging companies to boost energy productivity, advancing policies that enable increased energy efficiency, and producing analytical materials that make the business case for energy efficiency. This position will play a key role as Ceres coordinates investor and other stakeholders to engage with companies in reducing their energy consumption and climate impacts. Many of the investors who will be involved in this effort are part of the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), a project of Ceres that comprises a network of more than 110 investors, collectively managing over $13 trillion in assets. Members include state treasurers, pension funds, foundations, socially responsible asset managers, and religious institutional investors, among others.
