From the founding of the Global Reporting Initiative in 1997, to the creation of the facility reporting pilot project, to honoring companies through the Ceres-ACCA Sustainability Reporting awards, Ceres has been at the forefront in stakeholder engagement and corporate sustainability reporting.

Companies and stakeholders within and outside of the Ceres Coalition utilize corporate sustainability reports as informative benchmarking and accountability tools to measure a company's environmental, social and economic performance. More

Corporate Governance and Climate Change: Consumer and Technology Companies

December 2008 - This Ceres report is the first comprehensive assessment of how 63 of the world’s largest consumer and information technology companies are preparing themselves to face this colossal challenge. The report employs a “Climate Change Governance Framework” to evaluate how 48 US companies and 15 non-US companies are addressing climate change through board oversight, management execution, public disclosure, GHG emissions accounting and strategic planning and performance.

Virgin America

America’s newest airline, Ceres member Virgin America is committed to finding new ways to lead the airline industry on environmental issues.  The airline’s brand new fleet is one of the most fuel-efficient fleets operated in the United States. Virgin America’s current environmental initiatives include: a fleet and flight path analysis program to collect and analyze fuel burn data; operational programs that reduce carbon emissions; employee-focused green incentive efforts; and use of green guidelines in various procurement and operations decisions.
