The Best Ever

On behalf of all of us at Ceres, thank you to everyone who attended the Ceres 2007 Conference. This year's gathering was our largest ever, with more than 650 participants meeting in Boston to examine cutting-edge issues at the intersection of business strategy, long-term shareholder value and environmental stewardship.

The success of the Ceres annual conference, and of all of Ceres' programs, is due in large part to the collaboration of our members, supporters, and allies - people like you! We look forward to your ongoing participation in various Ceres programs; please keep us informed of projects, publications, and people who are involved in complementary efforts.

Highlights

  • Exelon CEO John Rowe, National Grid CEO Cheryl LaFleur, Goldan Sach's Mark Tercek, and NRDC's Ashok Gupta participated in a fascinating panel on the possibility of achieving a low carbon future.
  • Bill McKibben's enthralling speech on the sheer magnitude of our responsibility to the next generation and the hope he carries in our ability to meet this challenge.
  • This year's Ceres/ACCA awards was presented by Andy Savitz, author of "Triple Bottom Line".
  • Jared Duval from the Sierra Student Coalition, Pete Griffin from thinkMTV, Paul Gorman from the National Religious Partnership for the Environment, and environmental journalist Simran Sethi shared their experiences in getting Americans mobilized around climate change.
