Become a Ceres Company
Steps for involvement
- Begin engagement with Ceres by emailing your indication of interest to Andrea Moffat at moffat@ceres.org.
- Develop a plan with Ceres on priorities for sustainability disclosure and action. The Ceres Principles are used as a starting point to guide the discussion.
- The Ceres board of directors reviews the company's executive level commitment to sustainability.
- The board accepts the company to become a Ceres company.
Requirements to become a Ceres company
- Executive-level commitment to improve environmental and social performance using the Ceres Principles as a starting point.
- Public disclosure of this commitment by reporting on objectives, targets and performance in a sustainability report, Global Reporting Initiative report, annual report, environment and/or community report.
- Ceres and coalition engagement in the development and review of this reporting.
- Ongoing stakeholder engagement and response to input from stakeholders is considered and integrated into company actions.
- Continuously improve both performance and reporting on sustainability issues.
- Annual fee scaled to reflect corporate revenues, ranging from $2,000 to $40,000.
Services provided to Ceres companies
- Stakeholder team support on reporting including report development advice and report review by Ceres staff and coalition members
- Monthly consultation and/or advice as required
- Incident response advice, including correspondence with coalition members and contacts if required.
- Communications service - company link on Ceres website; electronic newsletter, press referrals, advance notice of Ceres publications and events
- Participation at Ceres board meetings
- Participation at Ceres annual conference and other Ceres events including early notification and opportunity to participate and sponsor key events
